Solar hair, that's what!

RastAfri's new Mood Braid line is made from solar hair. Solar hair is a type of synthetic (not kanekalon) fiber that reacts to direct sunlight. The sunshine itself changes the color, not the warmth from it, so solar hair will react in any place and any season, as long as there's a bit of sun outside.

Solar hair colors are pastel in indoor lighting and change to darker and brighter colors when sunlight hits them.

The change in color will happen almost immediately. Just a few seconds of sunlight is enough to totally change your look!

The amount of light will also affect the color; if it's a bright, sunny day, the "outdoor color" for solar hair will be darker and more vibrant than if it's cloudy or rainy out. It may also change indoors if you're near a window on a particularly bright day.

RastAfri's Mood Braid comes in 7 colors: Lemon Lime, Candy Apple, Pink Lemonade, Italian Ice, Lime Delight, Icy Blue, and Ice Sickle:

• Lemon Lime is a pale lime green color indoors and changes to purple in the sun.
• Candy Apple is a bright, minty green indoors and changes to a more lime-y green in the sun.
• Pink Lemonade is a very light pink indoors (similar to Ice Pink high heat kanekalon) and turns purple in the sun.
• Italian Ice is white (sometimes with just a hint of light pink to it) indoors and turns bright fuchsia in the sun.
• Lime Delight is a light lime green indoors and turns medium pink in the sun.
• Icy Blue is a light to medium blue indoors and turns purple in the sun.
• And finally, Ice Sickle is white with just a hint of purple to it indoors and turns bright pinkish purple in the sun.
