Tutorial: How to Blend Synthetic Hair

Tutorial: How to Blend Synthetic Hair

Posted by Sarah on Jan 29th 2016

Materials

  • Two or more colors of synthetic hair (if you’re making dreads from your blend, make sure it’s 100% kanekalon)
  • Patience! :)

Instructions

Choose two or more colors of hair that you want to blend together. There’s no limit to how many colors you use, so have fun! I’ve chosen turquoise, neon yellow, and lime green, which will yield a bright petrol green color. I’m using equal parts of each color, but you can use as much or as little of each color as you like.

Layer the colors on top of each other. It doesn’t matter which color is on top or what order they’re in.

Split the bundle of hair in half. Each half should have a little bit of each color in it.

Put one half on top of the other.

Split the bundle in half again, and repeat until the colors are thoroughly blended together. When you come across big chunks of solid color (like the green one in the picture), focus on splitting those apart.

You’re done blending when there aren’t any solid chunks of color left and none of the original colors stand out on their own.
