Tutorial: How to Make Rainbow Clip-In Streaks

Tutorial: How to Make Rainbow Clip-In Streaks

What You Will Need:
Needle and thread
Scissors
Latex gloves
A piece of cardboard large enough to fit your wefts on while working
Blonde human hair wefts
Two weave clips
Up to 6 bottles of hair dye

Instructions:
1. Measure a piece of weft that is long enough to fit your weave clip. The clips we used for the example are 1.5" wide and we used two layers of weft, so we cut 3 inches per clip.

2. Sew the weft onto the weave clip, using the holes in the sides. If your clips have holes across the top, you can use those as well. If not, you can sew the wefts in between the teeth in the combs.

The dye we used: Special Effects Blood Red, Napalm Orange, Bright As F$% Yellow, Limelight, Fishbowl, and Pimpin' Purple.

3. Now break out the cardboard, because you will be using that as your work surface to keep from getting dye all over the place. Put on your gloves and get your Blood Red, Napalm Orange, and Bright As F$% Yellow dye. Squeeze a little Blood Red dye onto your fingertips and put it on the top of the weft. Rinse your gloves off or change into new ones, then add the Napalm Orange below the Blood Red. Rinse again, then add the Bright As F$% Yellow.

4. Let the dye set for the amount of time on the packaging. Once its done, rinse it by holding the yellow at the top of the stream of water. If you rinse from the top down, the red and orange will bleed into the yellow and onto the blonde hair at the bottom.

5. Now its time to add the rest of the rainbow. Start with the Limelight, then the Fishbowl, then the Pimpin' Purple. Make sure to either rinse or change your gloves between each color.

6. Let your new batch of dye set according to the instructions, then rinse. To ensure that the Limelight doesn't bleed into the Bright As F$% Yellow, hold the yellow under the stream of water and let it wash down into the other colors rather than rinsing directly from the Limelight down.

7. Lay your streaks out on a part of the cardboard that isn't saturated with dye and let them dry out. Once they are dry, straight them and then you're done!
