Check out our DIY Supplies customer gallery! 100% Kanekalon KK Jumbo Braid Hair Click for full-size image. Professional quality, easy sealing 100% kanekalon jumbo braid hair. Perfect for dreads, braids, twists, curls, waves, and curly dreads! Approximately 48" in length unfolded, 24" folded. Bags contain between 2.8 and 3.0 oz of hair, depending on the brand; brands are listed on the color chart underneath the names of the colors. Black N Gold, RastAfri, and Modu Anytime are all 3.0 oz. Modu is slightly longer, though, so the volume is more comparable to 2.8 oz. Black N Gold Silver Braid looks like there's a little less hair than Classic Braid because of the straight texture, but it's still 3.0 oz. I Kick Shins, Vivica A. Fox, and Bobbi Boss are 2.8 oz. This type of kanekalon has a very high resistance to heat (similar to ShapeShifter Monofiber) and tends to stay quite soft even when it's set. If you're making dreads, we recommend boiling them first, then going over them with a straightener. They will not get hard like most other kanekalon and will feel a bit squishy and spongey when they're done, but once they're set they will maintain their shape. This kanekalon is lower quality, much shinier than the other brands we carry, and it can be a little more difficult to work with because it has a higher resistance to heat. Definitely worth the extra effort for the unusual colors, though! If you're planning to make dreads, we recommend using boiling water to seal them. If you're planning to make braids or twists, we recommend finishing the ends off with ortho bands or thread; most braid sealers and heat clamps will not get hot enough to melt this particular line of hair. It can be used to make krinklepuff falls, braided into your hair as is, or used to make extra strudy braids or twists. Lengths range from 17-19" folded, 36-38 unfolded depending on the color/brand.
