Feather hair extensions look amazing, but the birds that the feathers come from are bred for the feathers and nothing else -- the rest of the animal goes to waste, so they're skinned solely for the sake of fashion. We aren't comfortable carrying them, so in this section, you'll find two alternatives: Feather-Inspired - These extensions are our cruelty-free alternative to feather hair extensions. They're made from 100% human hair and are dyed with SFX and Manic Panic hair dye. They contain no actual feathers, or any other animal products They are 100% vegan. Care Instructions: These can be curled, straightened, crimped, etc just like any other human hair. We recommend styling each section individually if you want the colors to stay separate and look more "feathery." A bit of hair spray is also useful for keeping the colors in separate chunks, and you can even thread a few microrings around each section at the base if your real hair is thick enough to cover up them up when you're wearing them! Fairy Feathers - These are made from real feathers that come from large birds (roosters, hens, etc) that are usually killed for their meat. Some also are the result of moulting, but they generally come from egg-laying chickens. They are definitely not cruelty-free, but if you're okay with eating poultry or eggs, these likely won't be an issue for you. If you're vegetarian or vegan, or if you only consume free-range meat, steer clear of these and stick with the "feather-inspired" human hair option. We use small sections of tiger-striped wefts to mimic grizzly feathers, and mix them with various lengths of other solid colors.
